Congressman Cliff Bentz recently visited Mercy Flights headquarters to learn more about the care and services we provide to our Southern Oregon neighbors. He met with Mercy Flights CEO, Sheila Clough and other members of the team, and enjoyed a tour which included an up-close look at air and ground transport vehicles.
“It was so great to have a our district’s new legislator call and ask to learn more about us,” said Clough. “Congressman Bentz clearly has a genuine interest in the communities he serves and the needs of the constituents he represents. He had so many thoughtful questions and was eager to learn about what we do and how we do it.”
According to Clough, Bentz was especially enthusiastic to learn more about Mercy Flights’ Mobile Integrated Healthcare program and the team’s efforts to improve the health of the region’s most vulnerable residents while also working to decrease emergency room visits and hospitalizations.
“The Congressman immediately recognized that Mobile Integrated Health plays a critical role in the future of medicine and population health. He understood that meeting patients where they are and connecting them with care and resources is key to helping them get and stay healthy,” added Clough.
Shortly following the visit, Clough was invited to meet with a member of Bentz’s staff to continue the conversation and explore future opportunities to improve the health of Southern Oregon residents.
