Mercy Flights is accepting applications for a Full-Time AR/Medical Billing Specialist I.
We are looking for the right candidate with critical thinking abilities and excellent customer service skills to work in our small, friendly billing office. Our Billing team describes the work environment as team oriented, supportive, positive and fun while balanced with the challenging specialty of ambulance billing. Mercy Flights is a non-profit organization that was established in 1949. Proudly serving our community by providing skilled emergency medical care and transport at a reasonable cost.
Position Information:
Hours: 40 hrs./wk. (non-exempt), Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm;
Starting Pay rate: $16.00/hr. (DOE);
Benefits: Company paid employee medical, dental & vision, life insurance, short-term disability, 401k and earned time off/sick leave.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact insurance companies to verify coverage and co-pay information;
Submit claims to insurance companies, including ICD10 and procedure coding services;
Provide friendly and professional service to patients and vendors by phone and in writing;
Medical Collections.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a similar position in a busy office;
Two years medical billing and coding experience or medical billing and coding certification preferred;
Ambulance billing experience a plus;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including word, excel and outlook and web based applications.
